Dick Verdult, aka Dick El Demasiado, the Godfather of Digital Cumbia and “The Wandering Dutchman,” came to Japan to film a new movie. The film tells the story of him and the lucha doll (Mexican wrestler) El Demasiado of the same name. After their adventures in Mexico, the two demasiados arrive in Tokyo, Nishi Azabu!!
The Dutch artist, who has been wandering around South America, Europe, and the world since his childhood, vividly resonates with the distortions of a diverse and mixed culture. More Uglier! More Uglier! Come witness the live performance of Ugly Drawings and join the drinking party!

ARTIST PROFILE
Dick Verdult's (1954, Eindhoven, The Netherlands) work encompasses film, performance, graphics, drawing, sculptures and ceramics, radioshows, text and music.
His lastest shows were held at Annet Gelink Gallery (2019), Manifesta Office, Amsterdam (2016), Asilo Bar, Bogota (2015), Kunstfort Asperen, Acquoy (2015), Amsterdam Drawing Fair with Annet Gelink Gallery, Amsterdam (2013), Museo Castagnino, Rosario (2013), the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (2011-2012), Museo El Chopo, Mexico (2013), Arti & Amicitae and a solo show at Annet Gelink Gallery (both Amsterdam 2013) and 1646, The Hague 2014. He represented the Netherlands in Gwangju Biennale 2012. Dick Verdult has studied from 1973-1977 at Université Paris VIII Vincennes, departments Film and Plastic Arts in Paris.
